Today we will look how to count lines gzipped files in a windows system. First of we need to install gnu tools with cygwin for windows. Cygwin installation files can be found here. We assume that cygwin tools installed all ready. The scenario is that we have all ready created gzipped file name list and we just read this file and unzip files to wc tool which is used for text statics. Then we add results to the file. The who commands run in powershell.
$lines= Get-Content .\test1.txt
foreach($line in $lines)
gzip -d -c $line | wc -l >> .\test1_toplam.txt
