Tor is a popular project which is created to provide anonymous and secure web access to peoples around the world. Tor project provides different components like Onion VPN protocol, Tor Web browser, etc in order to complete the secure and anonymous web access.
What Is Tor Web Browser?
Tor web browser the GUI part of the Tor projects which can provide access to the web pages and applications. The underlying Onion protocol and system provide secure and anonym network and internet access over the world.
In general Onion Vpn network consist of multiple servers and hosts. These servers and hosts join the Tor network voluntarily or with sponsors. A session between a client and server redirected randomly between these servers and hosts with very little information to protect against tracking.
Download Tor Web Browser
The Tor browser is supported in different operating systems and platforms like Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android. As the Tor project is an open-source project its source code can be downloaded and reviewed easily.

We will click to the English 64-bit Windows installer to download it.
Install Tor Browser
Generally downloaded Tor setup file can be found in Downloads. The name of the downloaded file is torbrowser-install-win64-8.5.3_en-US where is specified 64 bit, English and version 8.5.3. Please double click on the installation file.
We will select the installation language in the first step. Keep in mind that this is just installation language, not Tor Browser language.
We will see the following screen where we can set the Install Location which is the current user desktop C:\Users\İsmail Baydan\Desktop\Tor Browser. Then we will click to the Install which will start the installation process.
We will see the following screen which provides progress information about the installation.
After the installation is completed successfully we will see the following Completing Tor Browser Setup screen. Here we will click to Finish but we can run Tor Browser with Run Tor Browser checkbox and Add Start Menu & Desktop shortcuts.
Configure Tor Browser
We will see the following screen with the Tor browser . As we can see below the start screen provides the DuckDuckGo as the default search engine because DuckDuckGo provides secure, private browsing experience.
