Hi, Skype is most used voip application in the world. To communicate peoples ask for skype nickname. As you know skype is bough by microsoft and very integrated with windows. You can connect skype with your hotmail account. Full options obly avaible for windows . So where is linux? I am using Fedora 20 and I need skype but there is no 64 version and linux version of skype is not full of options as windows. Skype is 32 bit for linux and you need to install some libraries in 32 bit. I assume you downloaded skype 32 bit for distro agnostic.
Install 32 bit libraries
1 $ sudo yum install libXScrnSaver.i686 dbusmenu-qt.i686 qtwebkit.i686
And then run skype binary also you can create soft link
12 $ ln -s skype-184.108.40.206/skype skype$ skype
