Raid 5 is created from 3 or more disk one of the disk is used as parity disk which means backup disk. If one of the disk in the array fails parity disk comes to play. But if the second one fails this is complete failure of the RAID.
Raid 10 is actually join of two raid type Raid 1 and Raid 0 . Two create Raid 10 we need at least 4 disks. First level of raid is Raid 0 which split data into two and sends them low level Raid 1. Raid 1 is simple clone of other disk.
